If you’re looking for a keyboard, System76 has every option out there. Whether you want the standard Launch, the Launch Lite for a more affordable keyboard without the USB hub, or want to have as many features as possible with the new Launch Heavy, your bases have been covered. Apparently the Launch Heavy has been around for the past few weeks, even though the embargo lift date wasn’t until today. At any rate, here’s the features it has over the standard launch:
DeadEyeVR, the Etsy seller who sent me his Steam Deck USB-C hub, made another accessory for my review: the DeckTop. This is a Bluetooth keyboard with a built-in trackpad and a clamp for which you can attach your Deck to. So far, I’m pretty impressed with it. They did a far better job putting this product together. With the USB-C hub/stand hybrid, it was little more than two off-the-shelf components slapped together with some adhesive.
Keyboards…I’d argue they’re pretty essential for everyday life. Whether you’re a writer, a web developer, a programmer, or someone who needs to respond to an angry Twitter comment, they’re important to have. There’s arguments to be made on whether the keys should be clicky, tactile, soft, quiet, ergonomic, or how fancy the LEDs should look. Me, I’d rather just be able to type efficiently. I don’t care whether it’s loud, quiet, very large in size or small.
