Them’s Fightin’ Herds – a fighting game featuring adorable animals – has finally received an update. The last update was shipped in February. But we’ve got some great things to look forward to with the 3.0 update. Probably the biggest thing is the introduction of level 3 supers (have a look at the trailer; they’re pretty flashy). This will certainly change the meta of the game, for sure. All characters have been adjusted, whether cosmetic features have been added as part of their moveset, some of their moves have been balanced, and/or received bug fixes.

Good things just seem to keep coming to Project Heartbeat. Last month the game got an audio engine overhaul. Now we’ve got a UI skin editor, with Steam workshop integration. You can use your own textures and fonts. Even animated textures are supported. Apparently a health system has been incorporated as well. Meaning if you miss too many beats, game over. Since this is a beta, you’ll need to opt-in to the beta branch in the game’s properties menu.

Project Heartbeat – a rhythm-based game available natively for Linux – recently received an update that, according to the developer, is “the single biggest update in terms of technical stuff we’ve done since the game was released over two years ago in March 26th 2020.” First, a new song was added: “Love Sacrifice”. Next – and what is probably the biggest change – is a brand new audio engine has been incorporated into the game, called the Shinobu audio engine.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl (NASB), the game that closely follows the trails of Super Smash Bros. as far as fighting mechanics go, has received an update today. When I had reviewed the game on Boiling Steam back in October, I had a few complaints regarding the character selection screen resetting after leaving the Rules menu and no timer for those who are away from their keyboard when matchmaking online. Fortunately for us, those issues have finally been fixed.
