Steam Deck Client Beta Update Replaces Big Picture Configurator in Desktop Mode with a New Configurator
Today’s beta Deck client update mostly focuses on bug fixes, plus the styling of command names in Steam Input has been improved. Patch notes are as follows: General Fixed scrolling on home recommended screen due to discovery queue Fixed issue where What’s New section was not populated properly Steam Input Replaced the Big Picture configurator in desktop mode with a windowed view of the new Configurator. This currently only applies to desktop mode on Steam Deck.
A little over a week ago Valve pushed an update to the Preview branch that reverted a VRAM workaround for Red Dead Redemption 2 and fixed some issues regarding random stutter and performance drops if the performance HUD was enabled. Well, that update is now available in the Stable branch, starting today. There’s also improved performance for Forza Horizon 5 from a beta update that shipped a couple of days later.

Patch notes are as follows: Fixed issue where rebooting while in Steam Offline Mode would cause games to fail to launch Fixed the Cloud Sync error notification popping up when offline Disabled Steam Offline Mode button when not connected to the internet, as trying to do this currently gets Steam Deck into a bad state.
Deck Beta Client Update Adds Keyboard Fixes, SteamOS Beta Update Improves Performance For Forza Horizon 5
Small update out for those of you on the Beta and Preview channels on SteamOS. Primarily this focuses on fixes for the on-screen keyboard. Patch notes are as follows: Fixed styling for CJK keyboard glyphs so everything appears centered correctly on keys Fixed Recommended Layout not always showing up for the author of controller configuration Fixed CJK font issues in SteamOS updater when running on Steam Deck Fixed focus issue when tapping the show/hide password button Removed the gap between keys on the virtual keyboard for improved typing Those of you on the Preview channel should have also received a small update today containing a performance improvement for Forza Horizon 5.
Looks like all the changes from the SteamOS 3.3 beta have now been pulled in and put into a stable release. It seems the SteamOS update has been pushed alongside a new stable Deck client update as well, as the patch notes are combined. Among some of the many changes in this update include the removal of Firefox as part of the SteamOS image; it’s now replaced with the latest Flatpak from Flathub.
Deck Client Update (Beta) Adds Adjustable External Monitor Settings and Fixes Guides/Acheivements in the Overlay
A new Deck client update has rolled out on the Beta and Preview channels. It’s small but contains a few bug fixes. You’ll particularly like this one if you dock your Deck to an external monitor and “have overscan issues.” Some bugs have also been fixed in regards to viewing guides in the overlay, or when viewing acheivements. Patch notes are as follows: Added ability to adjust image display settings for external displays that have overscan issues Fixed issues with some images being too large when viewing guides in the overlay Fixed spoiler tags in guides to be selectable so that they can be revealed Fixed issue with medium length game names in the Main Menu Overlay not properly scrolling Fixed Achievements page not updating properly when a new achievement was earned Patch notes can also be seen on Steam.
